Cylinder Cumulative painting now finished!

Here is my painting ‘Travellers and Magicians’ completed for the cylinder cumulative of LoP. It is oil on gessoboard, 5" x 7". I had to get used to some very small brushes to do this. The silver-edged box the items were set into was kind of fun to do and not as difficult as I thought it was going to be. The Chinese porcelain figurine was the most work and required layers upon layers built up, some in glazes, to get that type of finish and shine. The Chinese book letters were tough because they are hard-edged and small as was the words on the taped fortune.

Every piece is a challenge and a learning of its own to do. I am so glad I took the plunge to learn this style of painting as I am always challenged to tackle something new.

Thank you! This was a lot of fun to paint. While the tiny letters were the most challenging, I held my breath a lot to keep from making them crooked or shaky! The flexible hairs of brushes with words and edges of letters this size take a lot of patience!
