How often to you need to toss your brushes and break out a new one. They seem to “hook” pretty quickly.

It actually depends on the piece/subject. Some scenarios may put more stress on the brushes than others—however it seems that washing does the most to promote “hooking.” I actually have a post about that:

But I would say generally speaking—they last a few (about 3) weeks (constant use) before significant curling makes them near useless to me.
