# Memento mori

In preparation of the academy I try to dive a bit into the anatomy. Here a sketch (in progress) of a skull. As you can see, this one also has a blue chin…😉

Even though I paint quite a bit of highly rendered bones/skulls—I often do timed sketches and studies to improve on selective abstraction (adding weight to aspects of constancy.) Glad to see you are doing this Bert!

It’s very nice to see your painted sketch of the skull besides your finished work and would love to see more of your sketches. I feel I should be a bit more disciplined, looking at the mastery I see around here. Thank you for your encouragement!
