**WAICHULIS CURRICULUM: LANGUAGE OF PAINTING**

**FIRST MARKS (DOT, LINE)**  
Origin Destination Exercise 2-3 panels  
Origin-Destination Diagnostic Wheel

**SHAPE**  
Shape Replication Exercises

**VALUE and COLOR**  
Black and White Pressure Scale Exercise 1 panel  
Red Pressure Scale 1 panel  
Blue Pressure Scale 1 panel  
Yellow Pressure Scale 1 panel  
Basic Palette Color Chart Exercise  
Gradation Block Models

**FORM**  
Gradation Pattern Models  
Form Box: Achromatic Form Boxes and 1 Color  
Or 2 Color if student’s paint handling and color navigation is adequate.

**THE SPHERE**  
Sphere Build Exercises (all phases) – 2 Panels  
Sphere Build (Color) (all phases) – 2 Panels  
Sphere Life work  
Sphere Cumulative: 2 to 3 spherical subjects in an environment

**THE CYLINDER**  
Cylinder Build Exercises (all phases) – 2 Panels  
Cylinder Build Exercises (Color) (all phases) – 2 Panels  
Ellipse Chart  
Cylinder Life Work  
Cylinder Wheel  
Cylinder Cumulative: 2 to 3 spherical and cylindrical subjects in an environment

**THE CONE**  
Cone Build Exercises (all phases) – 2 Panels  
Cone Build Exercises (Color) (all phases) – 2 Panels  
Cone Life Work  
Cone Wheel  
Cone Cumulative: arrangement of spherical, cylindrical and conical subjects in an environment

**THE CUBE**  
Cube Build Exercises (all phases) – 2 Panels  
Cube Build Exercises (Color) (all phases) – 2 Panels  
Cube Life Work  
Cube Wheel  
Cube Cumulative: arrangement of spherical, cylindrical, conical and cubical subjects in an environment

**CREATIVE PROJECTS:** Each apprentice must complete at least 3, but no more than 4, creative painting projects during the painting section of the program.

I was able to find the more detailed info on this site and I’m working on the gradation blocks. It’s always great to go back to basics…
