# Williamsburg Oils eliminate Zinc Oxide in all of their Paint Mixtures

Williamsburg Oil Colors recently made the decision to eliminate Zinc Oxide in all of the mixtures in its color line due to concerns over the long-term brittleness of paint layers:

I used to use flake white replacement and some of michael hardings paint have zinc. I stopped using it because of Virgil and George’s explanations and suggestions. I did like the consistency though:(
