Not a bad start Pranavjit, the ability to manipulate certain materials so as to recreate an experience of perceiving form and volume is a vital skill for the representationalist. I would encourage you to really spend a good amount of deliberate practice here.

Here is a gradation pattern from the Language of Drawing program done in graphite by one of my apprentices. Just because the medium has changed, doesn’t mean the technical aspects/dynamics change. We still employ pressure control throughout the drawing process. The only significant change is that a kneaded eraser now takes on the role of a white pastel pencil.
