Artist Round Table Bi-Monthly Zoom Session Follow-Up Newsletter (06-05-2022)

Greetings, you are receiving this newsletter because you are registered for our Artist Round Table Bi-Monthly Zoom Sessions. We will be sending a follow-up newsletter like this after each session to highlight the key points discussed during the roundtable. First, we would like to say thank you to everyone who attended the Diagnostic Painter workshop. It was a pleasure to meet many of you in person! This year was a success! And it is all thanks to you! As our numbers are growing, we might need to put a few of you in a tent outside next year! :stuck_out_tongue:

Congratulations to Natalie Featherstone! Her painting Night Owls (20x16", Oil on Panel) was a finalist in the 2022 Spring Online Juried Exhibition. 136 finalists were chosen from 979 entries submitted, to view the online exhibition, please follow the LINK.

We are very excited for Natalie Featherstone and Diane Davich Craig! Their works are featured in the
Robert Lange Studios’ upcoming exhibit, Many Moons. Natalie’s Rocket Ray Gun (14x11", Oil on 3D Panel) and Diane’s two paintings Fly Me To the Moon (24x30", Oil on Panel) and Moon Dance (24x24", Oil on panel) will be among 40 incredible works from around the world featuring the moon. The moon has been depicted in paintings for centuries with its mystic powers and glowing mysteries, this show, opening June 3 from 5-8 pm, will have a number of contemporary interpretations as well as traditional.

Debra Keirce is traveling again! She will be at an opening reception for a three-person art show at WaterWorks Art Museum, Miles City, MT. Debra and her two colleagues Maria Bennett Hock and Carrie Waller are part of Women. Artists. Masters. (WAM) group. The group is putting on an exhibit titled The Big and the Small of it. Debra has palm-sized oil miniatures, some of which are hidden in boxes. Maria paints on large canvases that draw viewers in. Carrie paints everyday objects, elevating them to their most beautiful, larger-than-life presentation.

Debra Keirce and Maria Bennett Hock will be teaching a one-day workshop on sketching portraits in pencil and in the paint at WaterWorks, Miles City, MT. Debra Keirce will teach you how to recognize and draw a likeness from a photo. No matter what medium you work in, it is important to recognize value shapes. You cannot achieve high levels of realism with lines alone. This part of the workshop will appeal to anyone who would like to see a higher level of realism in their work. Using just graphite, sketch paper, and a trusty eraser, we will sketch a variety of subjects from photo references. We will emphasize capturing a likeness quickly and accurately
