From everyone at the ÀNI Art Academies we wish you a Happy New Year! Let this year be the year you go after progress over perfection and savor every victory you make along the way to your goals! There’s no limit to what you can do in 2023!

First, we would like to welcome our new member: Christine Young. Christine is in the process of transitioning from her medical art life to establishing her painting presence online. For more on Christine, please check out these links:

Congratulations, Christine Porter Lofaro, on receiving Rehs Contemporary Galleries, Inc. Award at the 16th Annual ARC Salon Competition. Her painting Life Goes On (10x10", Oil on panel) focuses on the concept that nothing stops life. Whether it is something positive like happiness or something painful like grief, nothing stays forever, and life goes on.

We also would like to congratulate all of the winners, honorable mentions, and finalists of this international competition. The ARC received over 5,400 entries from 75 countries; 40% and 2,152 works have been selected as semi-finalists. The finalists comprise a select group of top-rated entries, 1,273 works in all, or 24% of entries.

Congratulations to Deborah Kommalan! Her painting Extra Sprinkles (12x9x2", Oil on Panel) was juried into Winter Member Show at Maryland Federation of Art (MFA). Over 300 works were submitted and the jurors were particularly struck by the diversity of styles and subjects. All combined, this number represents countless hours of hard work and creative exploration, which produced so many stunning pieces. The final result is a show of 55 unique works that showcase the vast range of artistic talent within the MFA membership. The exhibition is on display from January 4 to the 28, 2023. If you are in Florida - and we are jealous because we are freezing over here in PA :)) - but make sure to stop by Visual Arts Center, Punta Gorda, FL. Debra Keirce, together with her two colleagues Brenda Dale Morgan and Denise Horne-Kaplan, are making a stop with their Traveling exhibition there. The show is on display from January 12th till February 9th, 2023.

Debra also is holding a one-day work shot at the Visual Art Center- Oil Painting Still Life in Layers. In this one-day workshop, you will use modern materials similar to how the old masters would have used them. Debra Keirce teaches drawing and painting in layers from photos. To sign up, please follow the LINK.
