After winning first place and selling my “Baby Crayons” painting last year I wanted to paint something more challenging but similar to participate in this year´s mini masterpieces category. The small vintage car is a Matchbox “model from yesteryear” 1914 Stutz. The matchbox is a vintage “La Central” classics series where they would include many famous Old Master´s paintings on the cover. This is the smallest copy of a favorite painting that I´ve ever done, this is a Elizabeth Vigee Lebrun´s famous self portrait. On the matchbox it reads her name in Spanish: Isabel Vigee Lebrun, (1755-1842), Autoretrato(self-portrait).
